Our client operates a large-scale, breeding-focused, certified organic cattle station spanning almost 2 million acres 130km north of Lyndhurst, SA, and 350km southwest of Innamincka, with all-bitumen access from the south. This is a full-season Station Hand position commencing mid-February, reporting directly to the station managers. The role calls for an experienced station hand who is committed, self-motivated, and able to work as a team. This is a hands-on role requiring reliability and a genuine commitment to seeing the season through.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Bike-based mustering across large-scale country; helicopters utilised when short-staffed.
Livestock handling including mustering, yard work, and processing.
Property maintenance including waters, lick runs, fencing, and general station works.
Supporting day-to-day station operations.
Selection Criteria:
Previous station experiences essential (must have completed prior station season/s).
Strong work ethic with the ability to commit to a full season.
Practical, hands-on approach with experience in remote conditions.
Accommodation provided with own rooms and shared amenities.
Meals and Wi-Fi supplied.
Car licence sufficient; additional licences (truck, etc.) considered a bonus.
Couples considered pending application.
Dogs and horses considered on application (must be well-behaved and well cared for).
No pig dogs permitted.
Remuneration negotiated based on experience.
