Job Title: Boiler Tender

**This is a full-time permanent direct placement opportunity.

Position Overview:
The Boiler Tender is a performance-level position responsible for the independent operation, monitoring, and maintenance of boiler and chiller plant systems at Fort Leonard Wood, ensuring the production of steam and high-temperature water for facility operations. This role demands demonstrated competency in boiler plant operations and a commitment to safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant system performance.

• The position offers a base pay rate of $32.08/hour, along with fringe pay of $7.50/hour or $6.50/hour, depending on the candidate's health benefits enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain one or more boilers for steam or high-temperature water generation.
• Monitor and log readings from centrifugal chillers, ensuring optimal performance.
• Perform boiler startup, shutdown, and firing procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Conduct boiler water testing and treatment, including chemical analysis.
• Respond to operational emergencies and maintain accurate operational logs and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating boiler systems or completion of a relevant training program.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record; ability to maintain driving privileges.
• Ability to wear a respirator and meet access requirements for federal installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address common inquiries or operational issues effectively.
• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain base access.
