1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Year 1

A welcoming primary school in Camden is looking for a passionate and resilient 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone who is committed to helping children reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.

You’ll be working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and support team to deliver targeted interventions and consistent emotional support throughout the school day. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential, along with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships with pupils and staff alike.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs.
• Be confident managing behaviour calmly and effectively.
• Work well as part of a supportive staff team.
• Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to making a real difference.
