Patterson Cheney Cars and Trucks in Keysborough is looking for a key staff member to join its IT team and provide level 2/3 support to its team of over 800 users.
This critical IT role would suit someone wanting to make a real difference to the business. The applicant would possess a high understanding of Networking and Security, along with the day-to-day management of Microsoft Intune and O365 in a hybrid scenario.

About the role:
You will report to the IT Manager and be afforded a high level of responsibility. You must have excellent capabilities in supporting our staff with technical issues.
You’ll bring knowledge and passion for all things IT-related and make your mark in this exciting and diverse role, which includes:
- Respond to support requests received in person, via phone, email, and internal ticketing systems.
- Understand the level of disruption caused by issues and respond appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate with staff regarding resolving issues and any available workarounds while problems are resolved.
- Work with other staff in the IT team to ensure issues are being addressed, but not double-handled
- Set up new equipment as required.
- Provide feedback and support to the IT Manager regarding issues raised, with the view to preventing future occurrences
So, who are we looking for? You will be a well-rounded IT professional, a strong communicator, and someone who possesses a strong Networking and Security mindset. You must have a university qualification in IT or equivalent experience, experience supporting a large and complex organisation, and, most importantly, enjoyment working with an IT team of like-minded individuals.
Getting a little more technical, you'll have a great understanding of and previous experience working with: - Windows Server Administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Extensive Windows desktop support for Win 11 and Windows servers 2022
- Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, Microsoft Entra ID.
- Knowledge of Group Policy, AD, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with Mobility, Remote Access, Proxies, Networking and Cyber Security
- Virtualisation – VMWARE.
- Supporting printers, peripherals, iPhone/Samsung etc
- PowerShell and scripting
- A clear understanding of Essential 8 cybersecurity framework
Preferred and would be highly regarded (not essential):
- Car dealership experience
- Certifications in MCP, MCSA, and MCSE would be highly regarded
- The successful applicant will have excellent phone manners, good presentation skills, and a clear voice.
Due to the nature of this role, occasional travel to various sites across Melbourne may be required; therefore, you must have a current Australian driver's licence. Our amazing benefits. - Competitive salary
