Winning these awards only makes us want to improve and develop further. To continue this success, Patterson Cheney & Westar Trucks is now recruiting a Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator [DW1 to support our industry-leading truck dealerships.
About the Role:
As the Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator, you will work closely with our Head of People and Performance and collaborate with various business units to implement our WHS strategy. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating WHS initiatives and supporting operational leaders to achieve safety objectives
- Conducting regular audits of on-site safety and EPA areas
- Investigating incidents and near misses
- Managing and reporting on WorkSafe-related matters
- Delivering new employee WHS inductions
- Creating safety alerts and rolling out new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conducting Risk Assessments as necessary
- Supporting Safety Representatives on-site
- Organising quarterly safety meetings and assisting with toolbox talks
- Staying updated on OHS legislation and best practices
This position supports our four truck dealerships in Dandenong, Pakenham, Derrimut, and Campbellfield, ensuring a consistent focus on safety across all operations.

You must have demonstrated experience with the following:
- Demonstrated WHS experience (ideally in the automotive industry)
- Formal qualification in WHS (Cert IV or Diploma)
- Flexibility to respond quickly to changing needs and priorities
- Strong relationship-building skills with a positive "can-do" approach
- Outstanding communication skills, with stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A proactive, organised and energetic approach to work and a dedication to continuous improvement
- A fun, team-oriented approach
