We are seeking an experienced CSA Engineer to support the successful delivery of major data centre projects in Cork. You will play a key role in managing quality control across civil, structural and architectural works, ensuring all activities meet project specifications, contractual requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor site quality control programmes, ensuring subcontractors comply with project requirements.
- Inspect civil, structural and architectural works to verify quality and compliance.
- Review and approve technical submittals and relevant project documentation.
- Attend regular quality control meetings with the construction team.
- Coordinate testing, inspections and demonstrations with clients and relevant authorities.
- Inspect materials and equipment delivered to site to ensure compliance with specifications and purchase orders.
- Monitor defective work, coordinate repairs and ensure corrective and preventative actions are documented and completed.
- Support subcontractors in developing appropriate repair procedures.
- Coordinate third-party inspections and verify that required testing has been completed successfully.
- Identify quality issues during ongoing works and advise site teams on remedial actions.
- Track and close out outstanding defects in line with the project programme.
- Maintain accurate site inspection records and documentation of compliance throughout the project.
- Coordinate handover documentation, including operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Support required statutory inspections and walkdowns, liaising with design teams, subcontractors and assigned certifiers.
- Review material test reports with structural and site engineers, ensuring non-conformances are resolved promptly.
Requirements - Relevant third-level engineering qualification is essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and relevant engineering technologies.
- Strong understanding of contract scopes, technical drawings, specifications, codes and standards.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes within construction.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and health and safety standards.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, engineers and project stakeholders.
