We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer at intermediate to senior level to support the design and coordination of electrical systems across complex construction projects. Experience within the data centre or mission-critical sector is highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to lead electrical design activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver technically robust, efficient and compliant engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems from initial client requirements through to detailed design, including MV/LV switchgear, cabling, containment, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarms and building management systems.
- Ensure electrical drawings, calculations and specifications comply with relevant Irish regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to BIM teams during the preparation of coordinated drawings and single-line diagrams.
- Review existing design drawings, technical submissions and engineering calculations.
- Raise and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve technical queries and clarify project requirements.
- Liaise with technical directors, consultants and site teams to coordinate design changes and resolve site-related challenges.
- Lead the coordination of electrical engineering services and interfaces with other building services disciplines.
- Develop value engineering solutions to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness and project performance.
- Support tendering activities by liaising with estimation teams and providing technical input.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience on construction projects.
- Experience in data centre or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of MV/LV systems, containment, lighting controls, fire alarms, BMS/EPMS and standby power systems.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, including Amtech/ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of applicable electrical regulations, engineering standards and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a demanding, collaborative environment.
