We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering delivery of a large-scale, hyperscale data centre project in Charleroi, Belgium. Based on site, you will oversee mechanical design development, technical coordination, quality control and commissioning, ensuring all systems meet project specifications and are delivered safely and efficiently.

Working closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in managing the mechanical engineering team and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities, including design development, value engineering and technical reviews.
• Manage the mechanical engineering team and coordinate with electrical, commissioning and quality teams.
• Review equipment technical submissions to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
• Oversee engineering quality control, procurement and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support to site teams throughout construction and installation.
• Coordinate mechanical system testing, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Ensure mechanical and HVAC systems are properly integrated with other building services.
• Support project planning, construction sequencing and critical path management.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to maintain project quality and progress.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in mechanical engineering roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership position.
• Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment and products.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, commissioning and start-up procedures.
• Experience with project planning, construction sequencing and critical path activities.
• Excellent communication, leadership and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage engineering teams and coordinate across multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Previous experience working in Germany is advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable.
