We are looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical systems on data centre construction projects in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in the mission-critical construction sector, working alongside experienced engineers and project managers while developing technical and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day coordination and delivery of mechanical works on site.
- Monitor installation progress, project milestones and programme deadlines.
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with designers, subcontractors and site teams to resolve technical queries.
- Assist with site inspections, quality checks and defect management.
- Track procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring deliveries meet project requirements.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing and handover activities.
- Maintain project records, progress reports, meeting minutes and technical documentation.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with project health and safety requirements.
Requirements - A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering is desirable.
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering and construction project delivery.
- Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Confidence using IT systems and managing technical documentation.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, quality assurance and project coordination.
