We are looking for a motivated Consultant to join a growing Nature team and support the delivery of a diverse range of ecology and biodiversity projects.
The role will involve working across the built environment, helping clients and project teams integrate nature and biodiversity into development proposals and deliver positive outcomes for the natural environment.
Key responsibilities
- Undertaking and contributing to ecological assessments, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), habitat surveys and protected species surveys
- Preparing technical reports and supporting wider ecological assessments.
You will also contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), habitat enhancement and nature-positive development projects, helping to identify opportunities to protect and enhance biodiversity.
The role will involve working closely with clients, developers, architects, landscape professionals and multidisciplinary project teams, providing ecological advice and helping to incorporate biodiversity considerations throughout the planning and development process. You will attend project meetings, contribute to proposals and reports, and support the delivery of projects to a high technical standard.
The ideal candidate - Have a degree in ecology, environmental science, biology or a related discipline, together with experience in ecological consultancy, habitat surveying or biodiversity-related work.
- Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, ecological assessment methodologies and BNG would be beneficial.
- Strong report writing, communication, organisation and time-management skills are essential, alongside a genuine interest in nature conservation and sustainable development.
