Key responsibilities
- Overseeing ecological assessments, biodiversity net gain (BNG) projects, protected species work and ecological reporting
- Providing technical review and quality assurance.
- You will take responsibility for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring programmes, budgets and client requirements are met.
The role will also involve building and maintaining strong client relationships, attending project and client meetings, liaising with consultants and external stakeholders, and providing strategic advice on ecology and biodiversity matters. You will contribute to business development by supporting proposals, identifying opportunities and helping to develop and grow environmental services.
As a senior member of the team, you will also be responsible for providing technical leadership, mentoring and supporting junior and senior consultants, sharing knowledge and helping to maintain high standards across the wider nature team. The role may involve contributing to large-scale, multidisciplinary projects and developing innovative solutions that deliver positive outcomes for biodiversity.
The ideal candidate - Have a relevant degree and significant professional experience in ecology, biodiversity or environmental consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge of ecological assessment and BNG.
- A professional membership such as CIEEM, relevant protected species licences and experience of client management and project leadership would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication, report writing, organisation, commercial awareness and leadership skills are essential.
