Are you an experienced EHS professional with a strong construction background and the leadership skills to influence safety performance at every level?
We’re looking for an EHS Lead to take ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety across a live healthcare environment in Dublin. This is a high-profile, site-based role where you’ll work closely with senior management, maintenance teams, contractors and industry specialists to drive exceptional standards of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping EHS performance, developing people and processes, and ensuring that safety remains at the heart of day-to-day operations.
Your role
As EHS Lead, you’ll provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all aspects of site EHS. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance, managing risk and driving a proactive safety culture across maintenance, small works and contractor activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining EHS policies, programmes and procedures
- Providing strategic EHS leadership and direction across the site
- Working closely with senior management to drive EHS performance and continuous improvement
- Managing EHS performance metrics, KPIs and annual improvement plans
- Providing expert EHS advice, guidance and coaching to management and employees
- Developing and overseeing audit strategies to ensure regulatory and company compliance
- Managing contractor EHS requirements, including inductions, permits to work and compliance
- Ensuring safe systems of work, standard operating procedures and contractor management processes are effectively implemented
- Conducting site inspections, audits and reviews of safe working practices
- Coordinating EHS training and delivering regular toolbox talks
- Managing incident investigations and root cause analysis, with a focus on preventing recurrence
- Monitoring EHS benchmarks, trends and performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
- Preparing and presenting EHS performance reports and providing clear insights to senior stakeholders
- Supporting emergency preparedness through the organisation of drills and response procedures
- Maintaining accurate EHS records, reports and training documentation
- Overseeing EHS activities through the company’s digital safety platform
- Working collaboratively across maintenance and small works teams to strengthen the overall safety culture

Working within a complex live healthcare environment, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineering and operational teams while ensuring that high standards of safety are maintained without compromising the continuity of critical services.
You’ll also act as a key point of contact for EHS regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders, representing the organisation and providing expert insight on EHS matters.

You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years’ EHS experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline
- A strong construction/EHS background
- Proven experience working within complex project or operational environments
- Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach to managing and influencing teams
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to build credibility, trust and respect at all levels of an organisation
- Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills
- The confidence to engage with senior management, employees, contractors and external stakeholders
- A proactive approach to identifying risks and driving continuous improvement
