You’ll collaborate closely with clients, consultants, project managers, engineers and the production team, while having the opportunity to influence design development, buildability and value engineering. The Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join the multidisciplinary design team in Bagenalstown. You will take ownership of the electrical design process across projects, coordinating with internal teams, clients and external consultants to ensure designs are delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage electrical design delivery schedules in collaboration with Design & Engineering Managers, Project Managers, the design team and clients.
• Lead electrical design development from the initial basis of design through to completion.
• Undertake design-assist activities alongside clients and their appointed consultants.
• Manage the electrical design process from start to finish.
• Review designs with a focus on value engineering, buildability and constructability.
• Coordinate with the production team and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Manage and coordinate external design consultants.
• Liaise with project teams on design requirements, project costs and technical issues.
• Support the Project Manager with the integration of design and cost requirements into project schedules.
• Coordinate and manage workloads across internal and external design teams.
• Review and develop electrical layouts, SLDs, schematics and general arrangement drawings.
• Identify and resolve design and coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

• Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar electrical design role is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical services coordination, SLDs and design schematics.
• Experience producing high-quality general arrangement and layout drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality design work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
