Operations Manager – Electricity Networks Location

£85,000 + £6,900 car allowance
Ready to take ownership of electricity network projects from design approval right through to energisation?
Fourblue are working with a growing IDNO, and they’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their Networks division.
This is a senior operational role with responsibility for the safe, compliant and successful delivery of ICP projects across LV, 11kV and 33kV networks.
You’ll be overseeing projects from design approval through construction, commissioning and final energisation, while leading operational teams, managing contractors and maintaining strong relationships with DNOs, ICPs, IDNOs, clients and other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing ICP projects from design approval through to final energisation
- Leading operational teams, contractors and subcontractors across project delivery
- Monitoring project programmes, budgets, resources and operational performance against agreed KPIs
- Forecasting ICP connections and ensuring resources are aligned with upcoming delivery requirements
- Coordinating outages, commissioning activities and network energisation with relevant stakeholders
- Ensuring works comply with DNO requirements, industry regulations, company standards and health & safety legislation
- Driving a strong safety culture through site audits, incident investigations and corrective actions
- Overseeing network fault management, coordinating rapid response and supply restoration while minimising disruption to customers.
- Providing operational support during network incidents and emergency response when required
- Building strong working relationships with clients, DNOs, ICPs, IDNOs, local authorities and contractors
- Mentoring and developing operational staff, identifying training requirements and helping build capability across the team
Criteria for the Operations Manager: - Current or previously held 33kV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation
- Strong operational leadership and people management experience
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification/experience within Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- NRSWA, SMSTS and CSCS certification/cards
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and electrical safe systems of work
- Experience managing project budgets, cost control and resources.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and industry standards
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with DNOs, contractors and customers
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing operational priorities
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly around operational issues and network faults
