Are you a skilled Design Engineer looking to make an impact in multi-utility infrastructure?
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the entire design lifecycle, focusing primarily on LV/HV electrical networks (11kV–33kV) while integrating gas and water systems where required. You’ll work in a collaborative, supportive environment, helping shape innovative, safe, and compliant solutions that power communities.
Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
- Develop and review detailed designs for LV/HV networks, including feasibility studies, load assessments, and network planning
- Produce accurate schematics and layouts using AutoCAD and other industry-standard design tools
- Ensure compliance with UK utility regulations, G81 standards, and company design frameworks
- Manage design approvals with local authorities, DNOs, and IDNOs
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align designs with project objectives
- Drive innovation and quality, incorporating sustainable and cost-effective solutions
Criteria for the Design Engineer: - Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in LV/HV network design within ICP, IDNO, or DNO environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windebut, or similar design software
- Strong knowledge of G81 standards and UK utility regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
- A proactive, team-oriented, and detail-focused approach
