We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with experience in 11kV, 33kV, or 132kV electrical networks to join a multi-utility design team. The role focuses on electricity network design, with secondary involvement in gas and water systems, managing the full design lifecycle while ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review LV/HV network designs (11kV–132kV), integrating gas and water utilities where required.
- Conduct feasibility studies, load assessments, and detailed network planning.
- Produce accurate schematics and layouts using AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Ensure compliance with G81 standards, UK utility regulations, and internal frameworks.
- Manage approvals with local authorities, DNOs, and IDNOs.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects effectively.
- Drive innovation, quality, and sustainable design practices.
- Maintain health and safety standards and participate in ongoing training.
Requirements: - Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven LV/HV network design experience in an ICP, IDNO, or DNO environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windebut, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of G81 standards and UK utility regulations.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Desirable: - Multi-utility design experience (gas and water).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards accreditation.
- Experience with earthing software such as CDEGS.
