MV Testing Engineer - UK & Europe
Are you an experienced MV Testing Engineer looking for your next challenge across the UK and Europe?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading contractor specialising in critical power systems for major international clients. You’ll work on complex projects involving the installation, testing, energisation and commissioning of medium and low voltage systems in both traditional builds and modular environments.
The Role
As an MV Testing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out testing, commissioning and maintenance activities on electrical systems up to 33kV. You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency at every stage of the project. The role will involve travel across the UK, Central Europe and Scandinavia, so flexibility and a willingness to work abroad are essential.
This position operates on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation and offers a competitive salary, with paid travel and accommodation provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct MV/LV testing, including insulation resistance, flash, low ohms resistance, secondary and primary injection tests.
- Perform dead testing, isolation procedures and switching operations up to 33kV.
- Install, terminate and test control and power cabling.
- Interpret detailed RAMS, drawings and technical documentation.
- Produce accurate technical and progress reports.
- Configure and test protection relays and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Liaise confidently with clients and project teams, maintaining professional standards on site.

Essential skills and experience: - Proven experience in MV/LV testing and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and isolation procedures.
- Ability to interpret and implement RAMS, drawings and test results.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team.
Desirable: - Experience working on critical power or data centre projects.
- Familiarity with AC, DC and VLF testing.
- Knowledge of HV systems and switching procedures.
- CSCS Gold or Black card.
- Relevant degree or vocational qualification in electrical engineering.
