Our client is an established Independent Connection Provider (ICP) working at the cutting edge of the UK’s energy infrastructure. They specialise in the design and delivery of high-voltage grid connections (up to 132kV) for major commercial, industrial, and renewable developments, projects that keep the country powered and moving toward a more sustainable future.
They’re now looking for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of day-to-day site operations on complex HV projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where safety, quality, and collaboration sit at the heart of everything you do.
The Role:
Based initially on a project in Glasgow, you’ll oversee on-site activity from start to finish, managing subcontractors, ensuring all works are completed to programme, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. You’ll be the link between site teams and project management, ensuring clear communication and smooth project delivery.
Future work may take you to other sites across the UK, offering variety and exposure to a broad range of HV connection schemes.
Responsibilities of the Site Manager:
- Manage all on-site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers to plan schedules, allocate resources, and resolve issues early
- Liaise with civils and utilities teams to secure permits and all relevant project documentation
- Drive a positive safety culture, ensuring full compliance with CDM and company procedures
- Carry out site inspections, identify improvements, and share findings with the wider H&S team
- Keep accurate records and progress reports, ensuring documentation is always up to date
- Represent the company on site with professionalism and integrity, fostering strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Support continuous learning and improvement across the project delivery team
Criteria for the Site Manager: - 3+ years’ experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager, or similar within utilities or construction working up to 132kV
- Solid understanding of CDM regulations and experience setting up or managing CDM sites
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Qualifications including SMSTS, EUSR Power, and NRSWA (Supervisory 10–16)
This is a great opportunity to step into a role that combines technical responsibility with real autonomy. You’ll join a team that values professionalism and teamwork, with the chance to work on high-profile energy projects shaping the UK’s low-carbon future.
