Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for your next step up?

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Network Design Engineer to take on a key role delivering LV/HV network design solutions for major residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing multi-utility design team where you’ll have a direct impact on shaping projects and mentoring junior engineers, while working across exciting energy infrastructure schemes nationwide.

Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:

• Creating tailored LV/HV network design solutions (up to 33kV), including substation and earthing designs
• Preparing and reviewing drawings, single line diagrams, cable calculations and technical submissions
• Securing approvals from DNOs/IDNOs for designs and ensuring compliance with industry standards (ENA, G81, CDM etc.)
• Providing technical advice on electrical networks and substations to stakeholders and clients
• Liaising with utility providers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies
• Supporting tendering processes and producing outline designs where required
• Carrying out peer reviews of tender and contract designs prior to submission
• Coaching and mentoring junior engineers within the design team
• Coordinating with Gas and Water designers to support multi-utility projects

Criteria of the Senior Design Engineer:

• Degree/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
• Incorporated Engineer status (IET) or working towards it
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in LV/HV (11kV–33kV) network design
• Strong understanding of UK power industry standards and DNO/IDNO construction requirements
• Knowledge of substation design, earthing, protection, and NERS compliance
• Proficiency in software such as WinDEBUT/VisNet and AutoCAD
