Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step into a lead role?

You’ll be working closely with project teams, engineers, and clients to ensure schemes are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Alongside managing contracts and financials, you’ll also have the chance to mentor and support junior surveyors — perfect for someone who wants to develop their leadership skills while still being hands-on with projects.

Responsibilities of the Lead Quantity Surveyor:

• Preparing and managing project costs, budgets, and financial reports
• Overseeing contract administration, negotiating variations, and managing payments
• Supporting design, estimating, and operations teams to deliver projects successfully
• Carrying out site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance
• Providing commercial insight, risk analysis, and advice to support decision-making
• Guiding and mentoring Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyors as they progress in their careers
• Building strong, lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders

Criteria for the Lead Quantity Surveyor:

• Solid experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within utilities, construction, or contracting
• Strong knowledge of UK industry standards, regulations, and best practices
• Skilled in contract law, procurement, and financial management
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Confident working independently while also collaborating with wider teams
• Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
• Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB) desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
