The Role
As a High Voltage ICP Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering HV/LV network connections (11kV–33kV) for a variety of projects, working alongside ICPs, DNOs, and IDNOs. You’ll ensure designs are compliant, cost-effective, and meet the highest technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer:

• Produce HV/LV designs for new connections across commercial, industrial, residential, and renewable developments
• Collaborate with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), DNOs, and IDNOs to deliver high-quality, compliant designs
• Support grid connection applications and ensure projects meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Apply ENA standards and UK wiring regulations to ensure designs are industry-compliant
• Use tools like AutoCAD, ElectricalOM, or similar software to develop accurate and efficient designs
• Contribute to process improvements and support colleagues where needed

What Criteria for the Electrical Design Engineer:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high voltage network design, ideally within an ICP or DNO environment
• Strong understanding of UK wiring regulations, ENA standards, and HV/LV design principles
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ElectricalOM, or equivalent design software
• Ability to work independently and manage complex projects
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
