Fourblue are exclusively supporting a growing electrical engineering contractor that delivers high-quality power distribution projects across the UK and they’re now looking to bring a Principal Electrical Engineer into their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior-level role where you’ll have real influence across project delivery, engineering standards, and the future development of the business.

You’ll be leading technically complex projects across key sectors including rail, renewables, energy storage, data centres and commercial construction – ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across LV to 33kV systems.

Responsibilities of the Principal Electrical Engineer:

• Leading on engineering input across critical LV and HV projects (400V – 33kV)
• Producing and signing off Installation Test Plans and commissioning procedures
• Supporting delivery teams with engineering solutions through design and construction
• Helping develop internal procedures, upskill staff, and raise technical standards
• Attending industry events and staying ahead of developments in the power sector
• Managing engineering reporting across the business and maintaining quality

Criteria of the Principal Electrical Engineer:

• 5+ years’ experience in the power distribution industry
• Strong knowledge of LV to 33kV systems and safety procedures
• Able to provide technical leadership and solve complex engineering challenges
• HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (Degree desirable)
• Professional registration and HV switching experience
• Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) or AP is a plus
