This position is responsible for the coordination and control of electrical systems across multiple project sites in Europe. The Control Engineer ensures that all electrical works are carried out in compliance with safety procedures, system protocols, and regulatory standards. The role includes granting authorisation for system switching, managing safety documentation, and maintaining oversight of system status and safety activities.

The position is based on a 17/4 rotation (17 days on, 4 days off), with travel and accommodation fully covered.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Exercise central control of the electrical system status across active sites.
• Provide authorisation for switching operations and equipment energisation.
• Maintain comprehensive records of plant/applications released for work and their subsequent restoration.
• Work closely with Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) to manage Safety Documentation and confirm system isolations.
• Review and evaluate risk assessments, including justifications for live working practices.
• Act decisively during site-based emergencies, implementing appropriate safety responses.
• Ensure all works are undertaken within the defined operational and procedural frameworks.
• Serve as the key liaison for safety coordination between stakeholders and contractors.
• Maintain operational logs and, where applicable, SCADA system records.
• Provide expert technical support to SAPs, Authorised Persons (APs), and Testing Engineers.

  
Candidate Requirements

• Recognised qualifications in electrical engineering.
• Demonstrable experience working with High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems.
• Previously nominated in writing as a Control Engineer by an Authorising Engineer.
• In-depth understanding of statutory and procedural safety obligations.
• A strong track record in safety oversight, operational coordination, and critical decision-making.
