Pricing Analyst/Manager

£50,000 + bonus
Fourblue has partnered with a leading IDNO who work alongside housebuilders, land developers, and utility consultants to deliver smart, green energy solutions. As part of their expansion, they are looking to grow their finance team and are seeking an experienced analyst with a background in the electrical industry. This role involves analysing market trends, competitor pricing, and regulatory requirements to ensure the company's pricing models are competitive, profitable, and compliant with industry regulations.
Responsibilities of the Pricing Analyst:
- Develop, implement, and maintain pricing strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and market conditions
- Conduct detailed market and competitor analysis to monitor industry pricing trends, regulatory changes, and competitor actions
- Ensure pricing strategies are aligned with regulatory frameworks, including Ofgem regulations, and remain compliant with industry standards and policies
- Develop cost models to ensure pricing is aligned with operational costs, revenue targets, and regulatory requirements
- Provide regular pricing performance reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management, highlighting trends and identifying potential risks and opportunities
- Work closely with commercial, finance, and operational teams to gather data and insights that inform pricing decisions
- Assist in engaging with stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and industry bodies, to ensure the pricing strategy is well-received and aligns with their needs
- Continuously monitor and refine pricing models, adjusting strategies based on evolving market dynamics, technological changes, and business objectives
Criteria for the Pricing Analyst: - A degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CFA) is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pricing analysis or strategy within a regulated industry, preferably in the energy or utility sector. Experience with an IDNO or DNO is highly desirable
- Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks, including DCUSA, Balancing and Settlements Code, MSAD, and LLF Methodology. Previous experience with annual submissions to organisations like Elexon
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and analysis to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
