Driver - Grounds Maintenance Operations 
Location:  Barnsley 
Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour, paid weekly - every Friday!
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-14:30pm (earlier finish on Friday's of 2pm!)
Start Date:  Immediate Availability
Contract:  Temporary on-going contract 

Are you a reliable and motivated individual with a passion for delivering high-quality services to the community? We’re looking for a Driver to join our multi-disciplinary team, helping to deliver essential council services across the borough.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a range of vehicles and equipment (including trailers, ride-ons, and hand-held tools) in all weather conditions.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report faults.
• Maintain and carry out minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
• Secure council buildings and premises as part of contracted works.
• Monitor fuel stock levels and liaise with relevant teams.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to public queries professionally.
• Work flexibly to meet changing priorities and schedules.
• Promote safe working practices and support team development.
• Use ICT systems to complete records and support service delivery.

Qualifications & Training:

• Minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent.
• Valid UK driving licence (Category B or B+E, or C1 or C1+E) – Essential.
• Manual Handling, Needle Stick, and IOSH Working Safely training – Desirable.

Experience & Skills:

• Experience in grounds maintenance or similar operational roles.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Confident using tools, equipment, and ICT systems.
• Willingness to work flexibly and undertake further training.
