An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Manager Works to lead the overall operations of the Glenorchy Work Centre. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Development, the Manager Works will lead a large and diverse team in the delivery of Council’s capital works program, the operations and maintenance of Council’s assets, maintaining service level manuals and works related masterplans, audits of Council sports and recreational facilities, fleet management and the provision of other support services.
The Manager Works will work collaboratively with the senior management team, taking a structured and coordinated approach to the planning and delivery of services. Other key responsibilities include budget and risk management, safety management and liaison with a broad range of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing civil works and maintenance operations related to local government infrastructure, together with project and contract management skills and experience in asset and financial management. Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills combined with drive, enthusiasm and exceptional communication skills will be key to your success in this role. A proven track record in leading large and complex teams, with a focus on promoting safe work practices, continuous improvement and innovation is also required.
