Are you a tech-savvy student or early-career IT professional looking to gain real-world experience while contributing to meaningful work?

The Archdiocese of Brisbane is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our Tech Solutions team in a part-time or casual capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with technology, support site deployments across Southeast Queensland, and be part of a supportive and mission-aligned organisation.

The Opportunity

• Hours: 18 hours per week (3 x 6-hour days)
• Duration: At least 10 weeks
• Locations: Brisbane (base), with travel to Sunshine Coast & Gold Coast (vehicle supplied)

Key Responsibilities

• Device Preparation and Imaging Assemble desktop hardware and peripherals; install operating systems and required software using pre-configured images and scripts.
• System Configuration and Testing Configure user settings, join devices to the network/domain, verify functionality, and troubleshoot common setup issues prior to deployment.
• Onsite Deployment and Delivery Travel to client sites across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast to install and connect devices; remove old equipment where applicable.
• Basic Troubleshooting and Support Provide first-level support and guidance to staff during deployments; escalate technical issues to the Tech Solutions team as needed.
• Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed records of deployments including asset tagging, location, and user allocation; assist in updating inventory databases.
• Team Collaboration Work closely with the internal Tech Solutions team to coordinate schedules, report progress, and continuously improve deployment practices.

About You

• Experience with building or supporting Windows-based computers
• Familiarity with Active Directory (AD) is a bonus
• Currently studying or recently completed a technology-related field (e.g., IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communicator who is comfortable working independently and onsite
• Reliable, proactive, and keen to contribute to a values-based organisation

Requirements

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (P Plates OK)
• Australian Citizenship or unrestricted work rights
• Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain
• National Police Check clearance
