Sacramental Program Coordinator
Location: 146 Maundrell Terrace, Chermside West, QLD 4032
Work Type: Part-time | 10–20 hours per fortnight
Reports To: Fr John Echewodo, Parish Priest
Are you passionate about helping children and families grow in faith and encounter Christ through the sacraments? Our Lady of the Angels Parish is seeking a warm, organised, and committed individual to coordinate our parish’s Sacramental Program.
About the Role
As Sacramental Program Coordinator, you will work closely with the Parish Priest and Sacramental Team to lead, organise, and deliver a dynamic sacramental journey for children preparing to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation, First Communion, and Reconciliation. This includes preparing parent sessions, family workshops, liturgies, and retreats.
This is a casual role with flexible hours (10–20 hours per fortnight), ideal for someone looking to contribute to a vibrant parish community while maintaining work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the enrolment process and sacramental calendar in liaison with the Parish Priest and school APRE.
- Prepare and deliver parent sessions, family workshops, and retreats.
- Communicate with families and respond to sacramental enquiries.
- Collaborate with parish and school staff, volunteers, and liturgy teams.
- Organise liturgies, materials, certificates, and resources for each sacrament.
- Promote the program through school and parish channels, including social media.
- Maintain sacramental records and relevant databases (e.g., Flocknote)
- Attend all sacramental celebrations (some weekend work required)
- Ensure safeguarding and WHS policies are upheld.
About You
You are an excellent communicator, confident in engaging with families, children, and volunteers. You have strong organisational skills and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Ideally, you will have experience working in ministry, education, or a parish environment and a solid understanding of Catholic sacramental life.
You will also:
- Have a genuine commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church
- Be confident using Microsoft Office and other digital tools (e.g., PowerPoint, email newsletters, database management)
- Be available for some evening and weekend commitments.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and complete Safeguarding training.
