About the Job:

Centacare, part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Systems Administrator to join our team. This full-time role reports to the Payroll Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the Aurion payroll system. You will work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and IT teams to manage key payroll functions, optimize system performance, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Position Details:

• Full-time
• Standard working hours: Monday to Friday
• Location: Brisbane, with flexibility as required

Key Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance:
• Administer and maintain the Aurion payroll system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with legislation.
• Configure pay rules, accruals, and schedules to meet legal and policy requirements.
• Lead system updates, manage integrations, and troubleshoot payroll issues.
• Ensure system security and provide support to payroll and HR staff.
• Report Writing & Database Maintenance:
• Generate and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet reporting needs and improve data accuracy.
• Establish efficient processes for regular report delivery (fortnightly, monthly, etc.).
• Payroll Functional Support:
• Manage QLeave, WorkCover, and Parental Leave payments, ensuring timely processing.
• Liaise with Finance for accurate reconciliations and payment processing.
• Support the payroll team in implementing and maintaining payroll codes and rates.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement:
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams to optimize payroll systems.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Provide training and support to staff on system enhancements and best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in using and maintaining payroll systems (Aurion preferred).
• Strong knowledge of configuring payroll systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across various teams.
• Ability to maintain a current driver’s license, blue card, criminal history check, and evidence of right to work in Australia.
