St Joseph’s OSHC Service is seeking a confident and experienced Educator to join our team on a casual basis.  

This role involves working split shifts from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM. 

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to become a responsible person (when required). As the RP, you will take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the coordinator, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

Our service is an integral part of the St Joseph’s Parish and Primary School community, with over 20 years of dedicated care. We provide before school care, after school care, and vacation care for up to 90 children.

With a strong focus on community engagement, our team and children participate in various projects, including a community garden in collaboration with the parish and school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Step in as the primary leader during the Coordinator's absence, providing direction and support to staff and ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
• Supervision: Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Program Implementation: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, staff, and children, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
• Administration: Assist with administrative tasks, including attendance records, incident reporting, and compliance documentation.
• Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that the environment is clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in an OSHC or childcare setting, with a proven ability to lead a team.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Availability: Flexible and reliable, with the ability to commit to split shifts as outlined.
