Wilston Gordon Park Parish is seeking a dedicated and organized Pastoral Ministry Coordinator to support the parish's mission and ministries. This role involves coordinating the parish sacramental program, collaborating with parish teams, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive parish community.
Key Responsibilities
- Sacramental Program Coordination:
- Communicate with parents via phone, email, and in person.
- Prepare and coordinate sacramental program information sessions.
- Manage forms, distribution lists, and certificates.
- Enter sacramental data into the PACS database.
- Order and distribute teaching and learning resources.
- Liturgical Ministry:
- Coordinate other liturgical ministries and provide training to parishioners as required.
- Parish Administration:
- Collaborate with the parish secretary and provide office support in their absence.
- Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries in the parish office.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster relationships with parishioners to encourage participation in Mass celebrations and volunteer opportunities.
- Safeguarding and Compliance:
- Uphold the Archdiocese’s commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace health, safety, and ethical obligations.
What We’re Looking For - Skills and Experience:
- Experience coordinating sacramental programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the PACS database.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with parents and children.
- An understanding of Catholic theology, liturgy, and sacraments.
- Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Commitment to the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Empathy, cultural awareness, and a welcoming demeanour.
Requirements - Current Blue Card and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Alignment with the ethos and mission of the Catholic Church.
