What We Are Looking For:
Are you seeking a flexible and rewarding opportunity in the funeral service industry? Holy Cross Funerals is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a casual Funeral Director’s Assistant in North Brisbane.

We're ideally looking for individuals with experience in funeral services, possessing a mature, caring nature and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will exhibit a high standard of presentation and communication, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment with limited supervision.

With shifts of a minimum of 4 hours and the flexibility of casual employment, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow and contribute to our compassionate team.
 
Key Duties:

• Support our funeral services through the provision of vehicle and transport services ensuring vehicle presentation is always at a high standard.
• Overseeing proceedings alongside the Funeral Director and ensure pre-arranged plans and ad hoc requests on the day are appropriately implemented.
• Working collaboratively to bring the deceased into our care with dignity and respect which can include after-hours shifts at times.
• Embrace after-hours shifts, allowing for personal growth and development.
• Maintain impeccable personal hygiene standards while contributing to a meaningful and supportive environment.
• Enjoy a dynamic team environment where every task is an opportunity to learn and make a difference.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Understanding of the funeral service industry and its operations (preferred), or ability to swiftly acquire industry knowledge.
• Openness to on-the-job mentoring, direction, and training as part of a cohesive team.
• Professionalism in working with diverse cultures, demonstrating respect to the public.
• Capacity to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a warm and approachable demeanour.
• Possession of a full unrestricted full driver’s license.
• Commitment to aligning with the Mission and Vision of the Catholic Church.
• Blue card
• Police Check
