Recruit, train and empower youth leaders across the Archdiocese.
Applications are invited for the role of Project Officer as part of the Evangelisation Brisbane Youth and Young Adults team. The position is a full-time fixed term maternity leave contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday until November 30 2021. However, part time hours could also be negotiated.
Based on the Evangelisation Brisbane Strategic Plan 2020-2024, this role is directly involved in ministry to Youth and Young Adults across the Archdiocese of Brisbane with a focus on delivering four primary outcomes. Firstly, to recruit, train and empower youth leaders across the Archdiocese. Secondly, to launch and lead 5 youth ministries in parishes that have secondary schools with a regular attendance of over 100 youth weekly. Thirdly, to recruit at least 50 trained and fully engaged leaders and volunteers. Fourthly, to ensure the recruitment and training of musicians engaged in the Youth Project. Finally, to provide young adults with opportunity to deepen their faith and be engaged in their local parish.
The successful candidate will have undergraduate education (or at least continuing study toward one) preferably in theology, philosophy, communication, education, liberal arts, or business administration. Experience in a youth leadership role within the Catholic Church, is preferable.
The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to, and understanding of, the vision, mission, priorities and principles of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. They will be available during regular business hours and, on occasion, for evening and weekend work.
