Cathedral Parish Manager
Location: St Stephen's Cathedral Precinct, 229 Elizabeth St, Brisbane city

Are you an experienced people leader with strong organisational capability and a passion for service excellence? The Cathedral Parish is seeking a highly capable Cathedral Parish Manager to provide leadership, coordination and operational oversight across our parish office and administrative functions.
This newly created role is critical to ensuring the Parish operates effectively, efficiently and responsively. Working closely with the Dean, you will lead the parish administration team, manage complex and sensitive matters, and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery.
About the Role
As Cathedral Parish Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day to day operations of the parish office, which also incorporates the communities of St. Patrick's, Fortitude Valley and Holy Spirit, New Farm ensuring priorities are managed effectively and resources are directed where they are needed most. You will act as a key point of contact for complex matters and provide high level support to the Dean.
The role combines people leadership, operational management, stakeholder engagement and executive support within a dynamic parish environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the parish office function, including staff, workflows and service delivery.
- Provide leadership and direction to the administration team, ensuring workloads and priorities are effectively coordinated.
- Act as the escalation point for sensitive, complex or ad hoc enquiries and matters.
- Provide executive assistant support to the Dean, including coordination of priorities, correspondence and scheduling.
- Oversee key administrative functions, including:
- Liaising with Cathedral Precinct offices and Archdiocesan parishes and schools
- Finance administration
- Volunteer compliance and governance requirements
- Marketing and communications strategy
- Foster a collaborative, professional and service focused culture.
About You To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
- Experience leading administrative or operational teams.
- Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Sound judgement and confidence in dealing with complex, sensitive or confidential matters.
- Experience implementing systems, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable - Experience working within a parish, church, not-for-profit or community based environment.
- Knowledge of volunteer management and compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting senior leaders or executives.
