Cathedral Administration Officer
Location: St Stephen's Cathedral Precinct, 229 Elizabeth St, Brisbane city

The Cathedral Parish, which also incorporates the communities of St. Patrick's, Fortitude Valley and Holy Spirit, New Farm, is seeking an organised, customer focused and proactive Administration Officer to join our parish office team.
This newly created role is the first point of contact for parishioners, visitors, volunteers and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently, requests are directed appropriately and parish administration functions run smoothly.

About the Role
As Administration Officer, you will be responsible for managing community facing operations, coordinating enquiries and supporting a range of administrative functions across the parish.
Working closely with the Cathedral Parish Manager and parish team, you will help ensure workflows are effectively managed and that requests are actioned in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for phone calls, visitors, email enquiries and general correspondence.
- Assess and triage incoming requests, determining:
- what action is required
- who should manage the request
- what information is needed to progress it
- Manage and monitor shared inboxes, ensuring enquiries are tracked and responded to appropriately.
- Maintain sacramental registers
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and maintain related administrative records.
- Manage liturgical rosters and associated scheduling requirements.
- Coordinate parish newsletter content and publication activities.
- Complete finance administration processing and maintain accurate records.
- Provide general administrative support across the parish office.
- Contribute to a welcoming, professional and service oriented environment.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in reception, administration or customer service roles.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A professional and welcoming approach when interacting with a diverse range of people.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Desirable - Experience working in a church, not-for-profit, community or service-based environment.
- Experience managing shared inboxes, scheduling systems or volunteer coordination activities.
- Basic finance administration experience, including invoice processing and record management.
