Philanthropy Officer - Catholic Mission
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Employment: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work for donor events and engagements

About the Role
Based in Brisbane, the Philanthropy Officer plays a key role in growing Catholic Mission's impact across Queensland through major gifts and gifts in Wills programs. You will build and nurture meaningful relationships with donors, supporters, trusts, and foundations, helping to secure sustainable funding that supports communities in need. This is a highly relational role suited to someone who is passionate about mission-driven work and confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities

• Deliver major gifts and gifts in Wills programs across Queensland
• Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors and supporters
• Grow income through major donors, bequests, trusts, and foundations
• Coordinate and support donor engagement activities and events
• Maintain accurate records and reporting through CRM systems
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and diocesan teams
• Provide high-quality donor care through regular communication and engagement
• Support fundraising campaigns, parish appeals, and mission initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, WHS, and organisational policies

 
About You

• Experience in fundraising, relationship management, or a similar client-focused role
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes
• Strong communication skills, including confidence in public speaking
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and time management
• Self-motivated, proactive, and outcomes-driven
• Competent in Microsoft Office and database/CRM systems
• Understanding of, or openness to, Catholic values and mission
• Ability to travel locally and work occasional flexible hours
