Permanent part-time and casual positions available for Support Workers/ AIN's wanting to make a difference in the lives of children and young people
Xavier Children's Support Network is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane and has been operating in the disability services sector in Brisbane for over 60 years. Xavier has a long and proud history of providing supports for children and young people with complex health and disability needs.
We have a number of positions available supporting children and young people with a disability. These roles work collaboratively with the family and the Xavier Management Team to assist the child/young person achieve their individual goals. Our workers are provided with comprehensive initial and on-going training and support to acquire and maintain the necessary skills.
Xavier Community shifts:
Regular shifts available both during the day and overnight. Various locations in Brisbane area supporting young children either in the home, at Xavier Place Yeerongpilly and in the community
Xavier Place Yeerongpilly Sleepover Role:
Overnight sleepover Tuesday - Friday 10pm to 6am PLUS next morning day (am shift) 6am to 10am OR same day (pm shift) 6:30pm to 10:30pm
Person requirements:
- Skills and experience working with children and young people with high/complex disability support needs - desirable
- A genuine interest in helping our clients work towards achieving their goals
- Willing to bring your energy and enthusiasm to each shift ensuring that the support provided is of the highest quality and in accordance with the young person's needs
- Sound written and verbal communication skill
- Reliable and punctual when working with busy families
- Basic computer skills and a smartphone with internet access for work purposes
- Actively engage in skill and knowledge development to maintain professional and organisational competencies
- Availability and reliability to work the required hours across a fortnightly roster
- Alignment with the attributes we value at Xavier including - honesty, integrity, treating others with dignity and respect
- Possess the physical ability to carry out all tasks required of the position
We also require:
. A current driver's license
· An NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Work with Children Check/Blue Card or ability to quickly acquire
. National Police Check/Certificate or willingness to obtain
· Completion of NDIS Code of Conduct module
. Appropriate work rights for Australia
· Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willing to acquire
· Compliance with Xavier safe work practices
· Certificate lll in Disability/Individual Support highly regarded for Support Workers OR
. Certificate lll in Health Services Assistance is required for AIN positions
