WHS Advisor
Location: Brisbane City, 4000
Employment: Permanent Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
The Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane positively impacts hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders every week. Through 98 parishes, 146 schools, 190 kindergartens, childcare, aged care, family and domestic violence assistance services, and outreach programs, we support some of the most vulnerable groups in our community. Archdiocesan Services supports this mission by providing parishes and agencies with expert advice and services in WHS, finance, technology, property, HR, communications, compliance, legal, and more.
The Archdiocesan Services WHS team currently consists of WHS Advisors and Injury Management Advisors supporting both Archdiocese and Centacare agencies in meeting their WHS obligations. We are currently seeking applications for a WHS Advisor position to provide advice, support and build capability within the Archdiocese and Centacare agencies.
Areas of responsibility will include:
- Be the first point of contact for the provision of advice and support to leaders on WHS matters
- Coordination of risk identification, assessment and solutions to control WHS risks
- Investigate WHS incidents and identify corrective actions
- Produce timely and accurate reports for senior stakeholders
- Drive key safety projects to address high risk activities
- Identify and develop strategies to address emerging injury / incident trends
- Undertake internal WHS audits and inspections to develop clear actions in consultation with internal stakeholders, and provide assistance as required to services to address identified gaps.
The successful candidate will require: - Minimum Cert IV in WHS, or equivalent qualifications
- Qualifications as a Fire Safety Advisor is desirable
- Current QLD driver's licence
- Previous experience in a similar WHS and/or auditing position ideally in a multi-site organization
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to influence capability at all stakeholder levels
- Experience in not-for-profit organisations is desirable
- A paid Blue Card and National Police Check (willingness to obtain)
