Project Officer, Youth and Young Adults

Employment: Permanent Part-Time
Work Hours: 30hrs per week from Tuesday to Friday
About Archdiocesan Ministries
This role sits within Evangelisation Brisbane, the Archdiocesan agency responsible for the Archdiocese's core mission of evangelisation. Drawing strongly from Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), Evangelisation Brisbane seeks to work with, inspire and empower parishes and communities to encounter Jesus and live the joy of the Gospel.
The position is part of the Youth and Young Adults Team, where all staff aspire to be authentic, inclusive, innovative, joyful and humble in their ministry and day-to-day work.
About the Role
The Project Officer - Youth and Young Adults play a key role in fostering faith formation, community engagement, and leadership among young people across the Archdiocese of Brisbane. You will support programs that empower young adults to explore their faith, build meaningful connections, and contribute to vibrant parish and community life.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about youth ministry, community building, and living out the values of the Catholic faith in an inclusive and engaging way.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote initiatives that foster faith in young adults and connection to faith communities.
- Develop and coordinate programs and activities that engage youth and young adults in meaningful ways.
- Explore opportunities for sports and tertiary ministry that encourage faith-based participation.
- Collaborate with parishes, schools, and community partners to strengthen youth engagement.
- Use social media and communication tools to promote events and share positive messages of faith.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, talks, and outreach activities as needed.
- Contribute to annual planning, reporting, and evaluation of youth initiatives.
About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in youth or young adult ministry within the Catholic Church (minimum 3 years).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organise, and deliver initiatives with creativity and purpose.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to inspire and connect with young people.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- A personal commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in theology, education, communications, or a related field (desirable).
- Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) and National Police Check.
