The Role:
We’re seeking a compassionate and experienced Service Leader – Housing to join our Housing and Homelessness team. Based in the Hervey Bay region, this leadership role oversees the day-to-day operations of Emergency and Homestay Housing Programs, providing supervision and guidance to Community Support Workers.
You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support aligned with Centacare’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and meet all contractual, funding, and quality standards.
This position also participates in an on-call weekend roster, providing after-hours management support for our women’s share house in Pialba.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to Community Support Workers.
- Oversee service delivery across Homelessness and Homestay programs, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS).
- Support case reviews, risk assessments, and care planning to achieve positive client outcomes.
- Monitor compliance, data entry, and reporting in SHIP and QHIP systems.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, housing providers, landlords, and community organisations.
- Contribute to staff training, service development, and continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in the weekend on-call roster and manage after-hours issues when required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and values-driven workplace.
About You:
You’re a people-centred leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments. You combine strong operational management with empathy, communication, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
You will bring: - Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in housing, homelessness, or community services.
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation, funding frameworks, and quality standards.
- Strong organisational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and client management systems (e.g., SHIP, QHIP).
- Current C class driver’s licence, Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening, and National Police Check.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster.
