Pastoral Associate
Location: Redcliffe Catholic Parish, Redcliffe QLD
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time
Work Schedule: 15 hours per week, flexible schedule including time split between parish and Archdiocesan Ministries.

The Children and Families team empowers parishes and communities to nurture faith in the next generation. Through creative programs, resources, and events, we help children and families encounter Jesus and actively participate in parish life, fostering lifelong faith and connection.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Pastoral Associate to support and nurture the faith life of children and families in Redcliffe Catholic Parish. Employed by Archdiocesan Ministries under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), you will work closely with the parish community, local schools, and the Archdiocesan Children and Families team. This unique role combines parish-based ministry with support and formation from the Archdiocese, providing a collaborative and rewarding environment to help families encounter and live the joy of the Gospel.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate the Children’s Liturgy of the Word, working alongside and resourcing the current volunteer team.
- Develop and run a primary-aged youth group, fostering faith and community connections for children.
- Support initiatives for a future family Mass and encourage greater family engagement in parish life.
- Build strong relationships with local Catholic schools, including school visits and shared initiatives that strengthen the parish–school connection.
- Assist with the parish sacramental preparation program by maintaining ongoing connections with families between sacraments, supporting continued engagement and faith formation.
- Explore and implement creative ways to connect families and children, such as establishing playgroups or new community-building activities.
- Work collaboratively with Archdiocesan Ministries, including one day per week in the Arch office for team meetings, training, and preparation.
What We're Looking For - A person who is committed to fostering faith in line with Catholic teachings and has a passion for ministry with children and families.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage children, parents, school staff, and parishioners.
- Experience in pastoral ministry, youth work, education, or related fields is highly regarded.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities and programs.
- Organizational skills to coordinate volunteers, create resources, and manage rosters effectively.
- Flexibility and initiative to support evolving parish needs and explore new ministry opportunities.
