About the Archdiocese of Brisbane
The Archdiocese of Brisbane, established in 1859, is a dynamic Catholic community in Southeast Queensland. Led by Archbishop Mark Coleridge, we support parishes, schools, and ministries focused on worship, education, and social justice. Committed to fostering faith and compassion, we offer a collaborative and inclusive environment for those dedicated to serving and enriching our community.
About the Role
Are you passionate about engaging young people and fostering faith in a welcoming environment? We are seeking a Youth Group Ministry Leader to join our parish team in a casual, flexible role designed to strengthen youth connections within our community.
This position offers the opportunity to build a youth group from the ground up, creating a vibrant ministry centred on faith, fellowship, and fun. The role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact with flexibility in how and where the work is carried out.
This is a casual role with flexible hours, to be planned and agreed upon in consultation with the Parish Priest. The initial focus will be on developing the youth group in your own time, followed by regular gatherings and engagement once the ministry is established. Remote work may be possible, depending on the needs of the parish and suitability of the candidate.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- Monthly Saturday 5pm Mass & Gatherings: Lead a monthly youth gathering centred around the Saturday evening Mass.
- Flexible Work Location: While some time in the parish office during school hours may be helpful, much of the planning and engagement can occur remotely.
- Youth Engagement: Create a welcoming space for young people that connects faith with friendship and social belonging.
- Building Community: Design a program that nurtures high school engagement and builds a pathway to an older youth group.
- Volunteer & Leadership Development: Empower young people to take on leadership roles and contribute to the life of the parish.

✔ Passionate about youth ministry – understands how to connect with young people in a faith-based setting
