Our Service:
St Martin’s OSHC is located within the welcoming inner-city suburb of Carina and provides care for primary school children aged 4 to 13 years. Licensed for up to 225 children, the service is supported by a passionate and dedicated team of 18 educators who are currently studying across a variety of fields and career pathways.
The service proudly embraces a genuine “home-away-from-home” environment, where strong relationships, fun experiences, and meaningful connections are at the heart of everyday practice. Educators are passionate about extending children’s interests through a blend of planned experiences and spontaneous learning opportunities that encourage creativity, engagement, and growth.
As the service continues to grow, we are excited to welcome additional educators to join our supportive and vibrant OSHC family.
A day in the life of an OSHC Educator...
- Providing nurturing and responsive care that supports the wellbeing and development of all children
- Creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for children, families, and educators
- Delivering fun, engaging, and inclusive recreational and educational experiences for all children
- Building and maintaining positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members
- Working collaboratively within an established team to achieve the best outcomes for children and families
- Contributing to a clean, organised, and inviting environment that reflects a strong sense of care and belonging
- Supporting the planning and implementation of engaging programs based on children’s interests and experiences
- Enjoying opportunities to attend exciting excursions and special events during Vacation Care programs
- Bringing energy, positivity, and enthusiasm each day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in our care!
Job Requirements - Holds a Cert III or Diploma qualification or higher relevant to Working with Children - a range of study areas may be recognised including, behavioural science, community services, creative arts, education, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, sports and recreation, and human welfare studies. - Holds a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current completion (or willingness to complete prior to commencement) of mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko).
- A passion for the education and care of school aged children in a play-based environment
- Effective workplace communication skills
- Understanding of (or willingness to learn):
