About the Role
Our client partner, a leading Tier 1 Mining Contractor, is seeking an experienced Open Cut Examiner to join its site-based operational team.

Working a 7/7 roster, you will provide statutory oversight and operational leadership to ensure mining activities are completed safely and in accordance with legislative, site and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform statutory inspections across open-cut mining areas
• Monitor workplace conditions and identify operational hazards
• Ensure mining activities comply with statutory requirements
• Implement controls and take action where unsafe conditions arise
• Provide clear direction to supervisors and operational crews
• Complete inspections, reports and statutory documentation
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions
• Participate in shift handovers and operational planning
• Promote strong safety leadership across the operation
• Work collaboratively with production and technical teams

About You

• Current and relevant Open Cut Examiner competencies
• Demonstrated experience within open-cut coal mining operations
• Strong understanding of statutory and operational obligations
• Proven ability to identify hazards and implement effective controls
• Confident leadership and decision-making capabilities
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and compliance standards
• Current site-required licences and competencies
