Our client partner is seeking a motivated and proactive HSEQT Advisor to join the team at Mt Carlton Gold Mine and play a key role in supporting a safe, compliant and high-performing operation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced health, safety, environment, quality and training professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and frontline teams to create a positive safety culture.
Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will provide practical advice, coaching and support across all aspects of HSEQT while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance business performance.
This position operates on an 8 Days On / 6 Days Off roster, DIDO Only.
About the Role
Reporting to the HSEQT Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day HSEQT support across the site, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company standards while promoting best practice safety and environmental performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide professional HSEQT advice and guidance to site leaders and employees.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the site's Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training Management System.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance activities.
- Facilitate incident investigations and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on HSEQT performance metrics and trends.
- Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification and critical control verification.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring and support environmental compliance obligations.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programs.
- Support emergency preparedness activities and site training initiatives.
- Partner with contractors and employees to drive continuous improvement and strengthen safety culture.
About You You are a collaborative and influential HSEQT professional who is passionate about creating safe and sustainable workplaces. You enjoy working in a dynamic operational environment and have the confidence to engage with people at all levels of the business.
To be successful, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in an HSE, HSEQT or Safety Advisor role within mining, resources or heavy industry.
- Sound knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, audits and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement).
- Diploma or tertiary qualifications in WHS, Environmental Science or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
