Myndshift Group have been engaged by our client partner a well renowned Contract Miner to recruit a Commercial Superintendent for their large open-cut coal project in the northern end of the Bowen Basin.

About the Role:

Reporting to the PM/SS with a dotted line to the Commercial Manager, the Commercial Superintendent will be responsible for providing commercial and financial support to ensure effective contract management and cost control across a major mining project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing project cost control, forecasting, and reporting in line with company standards
• Supporting project leadership with commercial analysis and risk management
• Assisting with contract administration, variations, and claims
• Monitoring budget performance and identifying areas for improvement
• Ensuring compliance with contractual and corporate governance requirements
• Providing commercial insights to enhance project profitability and efficiency

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline (essential)
• Experience in commercial or project accounting roles within the mining sector
• Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise software systems (highly desirable)
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• The ability to work autonomously and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced project environment
