Job Summary:
 
Ground Works Land Design is looking for a Gardener / Horticulture Specialist to join our growing team. This role is part of our specialized bed maintenance division. As a key member of this team, you will focus on maintaining the overall health and aesthetics of plant beds, ornamental trees, and landscaped areas on residential and commercial properties. While our mowing crews focus on turf, this position plays a vital role in elevating the visual quality of our clients' properties by caring for the details that truly make landscapes stand out.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 an hour (wage based on experience)

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed landscape bed maintenance including plant care, pruning, and seasonal upkeep to keep properties looking their best
• Use horticultural knowledge to assess plant and lawn health and communicate observations or concerns to Account Managers
• Monitor and maintain the condition of ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennials throughout the season
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Work closely with the Account Manager to ensure all client expectations are met and exceeded
• Proactively report any site issues or improvement opportunities to the team
• Maintain a clean and organized work site and uphold safety standards
• Train crew members on proper techniques and procedures as needed
• Be available for snow removal duties during winter months
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

 
What We're Looking For:

• Valid driver's license with minimal incidents or points in the last 3 years (required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in horticulture, gardening, or landscaping
• Strong plant and bed care knowledge with attention to detail
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

 
Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs+
• Able to crouch, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods
• Able to work outdoors in a physically active role for long periods
