Here’s what you will do:
  

• Review and professionally stamp electrical designs for projects of all sizes and complexities.
• Lead electrical design strategies and concepts for complex projects, including:

• Power distribution and generation systems
• Indoor/outdoor lighting and lighting controls
• Fire alarm systems
• Voice/data communications, security/CCTV, public address, nurse call, and related low-voltage infrastructure

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the electrical engineering team.
• Lead audits, feasibility studies, and investigations, and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of electrical design standards, processes, and best practices.
• Mentor and support intermediate and junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth within the team.
• Troubleshoot construction challenges and work collaboratively to develop effective solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, sales representatives, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring clear communication and accurate project documentation.
• Participate in site reviews, construction phase services, and field assessments.
• Perform additional related duties as required.

  
Here’s what we’re looking for:
  

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering. P. Eng designation is required for this position.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive, relevant work experience
• 5 or more years of design experience for complex fire alarm and electrical systems in a variety of industry sectors including multi-unit residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional. 
• Substantial exposure to troubleshooting on-site control issues
• Medium and/or high voltage system design experience is an asset but not required
• Extensive knowledge of codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards.
• Design experience across multiple industries, including commercial, industrial, educational, multi-unit residential, healthcare, and government
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to work collaboratively and strategically with internal and external partners.
• A proven ability to multitask and deliver quality work within defined deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to success in this role, as well as strong decision-making skills.
