Senior Accountant (18-Month Contract)
Location: Mississauga, ON (near Hwy 401 & Mississauga Road)
Salary Range: $85,000–$95,000

2. Why Are We Looking for You? We are proud to partner with our client, a well-established global organization in the manufacturing and technology sector, in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Mississauga-based finance team on an 18-month maternity leave contract.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy during a period of transition and system enhancement.

4. What Will You Do?

• Manage and oversee general accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end closings
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Maintain and update the chart of accounts and financial statement roll-ups
• Assist in preparing monthly provisions, cash flow projections, and IFRS-compliant financial statements
• Complete and analyze balance sheet, intercompany, and bank reconciliations
• Support internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and schedules
• Prepare and submit various government and tax filings (HST, income tax, Statistics Canada reports)
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams when required
• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies, controls, and deadlines

5. What Do You Bring?

• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience (5 years preferred)
• Strong understanding of AR, AP, GL, reconciliations, and taxation principles
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, formatting)
• Experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred) or other major ERP systems
• Solid knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and financial reporting practices
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines
