We’re working with a well-established horticulture business delivering high quality orchard developments across the Bay of Plenty.
We’re looking for a Drainage Supervisor to take ownership of drainage and water management across the multiple Orchards and new development areas.
This team sits alongside, but separate to the existing horticulture side of the business, working closely with our construction crews to get orchards set up right from day one.
If you’ve got a background in drainage, ideally across land development, and you enjoy being out on-site and leading from the front, this is a role where you can make a real impact.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for organising and overseeing drainage work across orchard developments and existing properties. This includes install, maintenance, and making sure everything is working as it should.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Working alongside the Orchard and Construction teams on new orchard developments
- Supervising drainage install – pipe laying, trenching, outfalls, and water control
- Ongoing maintenance and upgrades to existing drainage systems
- Keeping an eye on water flow, problem areas, and fixing issues early
- Coordinating crew, machinery, and contractors to get the job done
- Making sure work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Communicating with other teams on-site to keep things running smoothly
This is a hands-on role – you’ll be out on site most days, however, you’ll have the ability to schedule, plan and report back on the performance of this business unit.
About You You’ll likely come from a drainage, civil, or earthworks background and will be comfortable taking the lead.
What we’re looking for:
- Solid experience in drainage and civil works
- Confidence supervising crews and running jobs day-to-day
- Good understanding of levels, fall, and water movement
- Can read plans and set work up properly
- Practical, problem-solving mindset
- Takes pride in doing a job properly
- Strong focus on health and safety
- Full NZ driver’s license
